VoIP server software provider Global Convergence Solutions (GSC) helps VoIP retailers to automate least-cost routing (LCR) to improve overall VoIP call quality. Using LCR allows VoIP retailers like Vonage to use their purchasing power to route traffic, rewarding wholesale suppliers who deliver the best quality level and prices.

Over time, this has led to a marked improvement in the voice quality and pricing of VoIP service for consumers and businesses. GSC has developed an impressive customer base over the years, including companies like Vonage, One Communications and KDDI. The company is a pioneer in next-generation LCR technology, offering real-time decision-making to reduce the number of network hops on a particular call. Vendors are able to customize the software to route calls through vendors that offer specific margins and a detailed quality level. It responds dynamically to the current network state and adjusts in real-time to route around any performance obstacles.

There's alot of buzz about VoIP functionality. While technical people and IT specialists may understand its benefits, there are many ordinary people such as some business people, who have yet to understand what the fuss is all about.

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol, and it involves a number of technologies and methods that allow for voice and multimedia communications over internet protocol networks, most notably over the internet. Many businesses have already shifted their communication channels over to VoIP, however, many businesses especially small businesses have yet to take advantage of this service.

The biggest benefit of VoIP communications is that it is significantly cheaper than other forms of verbal and multimedia devices. VoIP is cheaper both in the infrastructure costs and in the actual communication costs. For instance, traditional telecommunication companies would charge an extra fee for business conference calling, call forwarding and automatic redialling, but many open source VoIP devices provide these features for free or at a lowered cost.
